Conservative approach in adult right-sided Bochdalek hernia with an intrathoracic ectopic kidney

Bochdalek hernia (BH) is a congenital diaphragmatic defect primarily diagnosed in neonates and usually left-sided. Adult diagnosis, especially of right-sided BH exceedingly rare presents with symptoms. Till now, only 31 cases have been to be along intrathoracic kidney. This report 26-year-old asymptomatic male who was incidentally massive right hernia. Imaging revealed severe abdominal herniation, ectopic kidney, liver lobe hypoplasty hypertrophied left extending down the pelvic cavity. Several surgeons were consulted, controversial opinions on whether elective surgery should performed or withheld. Due high risk associated patient’s choice, deferred. For almost 18 months, patient did not any symptoms complications. case highlights rarity adults challenges determining management approach. Also, it proposes conservative approach for such patients as modality. Most extensive diagrammatic reported estimated neck 10 cm. treated surgically reports outcome are rare. In cases, preferences thorough assessment play vital roles decision-making regarding versus surgical approaches.
